As noted, in the FoodTech sector there has been a surge in new startups focusing on alternative protein sources. There has also been a gradual easing of regulatory limitations internationally, which is expected to allow many new products to be brought to market in the short-term. Encouraging developments include Remilk receiving the first approval for introducing precision fermentation dairy to the Israeli market, and the US Department of Agriculture approving the sale of cell-cultured chicken and beef.
