What We Eat Affects Everything

Conventional meat, eggs, and dairy production is unsustainable and inefficient. Current methods drive climate change, environmental degradation, and antibiotic-resistant disease. United Nations scientists state that raising animals for food production is one of the leading causes of global warming, land degradation, air and water pollution, as well as the loss of biodiversity.

Alternative Proteins

The alternative protein market, which includes cell-grown and plant-based meats, eggs, dairy, and seafood products, is set to reach $290 billion by 2035. This will represent 11% of global protein consumption, and the impact on climate change would be equivalent to decarbonizing 95% of the aviation industry. Meat/seafood made from plants or cultivated from animal or fish cells delivers the same foods we love with an added bonus: emissions are cut by up to 92 percent, especially when produced with renewable energy.
